Video production for Newport city martial arts. The footage was captured using two Sony A7III cameras on mounted stabilisers. One camera using a 50mm prime cine lens, and the other camera with a 24mm prime cine lens, both utilising a large aperture of f1.4.
We filmed at 100 frames per second, and later edited in post production. The black and white theme for the video was thought out before shooting, and we decided to just shoot in Cine4 B&W, and gently grade the tone in post. Sound was captured using a RØDE NTG4 is a broadcast quality shotgun microphone, as this particular microphone can capture premium audio recording quality, whilst having a super low self noise.
The video production is gritty and aimed to capture the imagination and interest in young people, ranging from the ages of 5+ to adult, for street self-defense, using a mixture of martial arts including Krag Maga – a military self-defence and fighting system developed for the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli security forces derived from a combination of techniques sourced from boxing, wrestling, aikido, judo and karate, along with realistic fight training.
